PAST EVENTS

2016 Event

The inaugural 2016 IAASF event was held at the Baltic Centre for Contemporary Arts, Newcastle. The event attracted over 80 attendees from a wide range of sectors including governmental departments, museums, private estates and charities. The attendees and speakers came from around the world and included representatives from the USA, Spain, Holland and Ireland. A number of sponsors attended and demonstrated technical security devices, protective glazing and other supporting services which included a demonstration by FogBandit UK of their ‘cloaking device’ that covered a room with a non-hazardous smoke type screen. Many of the 2016 delegates and sponsors have already signed up for the 2017 event and we look forward to welcoming them back as well as meeting new friends.

Some Feedback from the 2016 Event:

“For a first attempt at breaking into this subject area and producing a conference/forum, I thought it was very good. I go to loads of these events and have attended many museum related conferences and this was right up there.”

“Extremely interesting diverse range of speakers, the presentation from Durham Constabulary around process and decision making was extremely interesting, as was the presentation around protecting places of worship.”

“Andy Davis – a great host and conduit between speakers. Warming to note the relationships between Andy and the speakers.”

“Excellent event and all speakers were very relevant.”

“All speakers were high quality and informative.”
